Tuesday October 17- Sergeant LaDavid Johnson’s family was riding in a car to receive the fallen hero’s remains as he returned to the United States last night. Myesha Johnson is Sgt. Johnson’s widow, whom Trump has only referred to as “the woman” or “the wife”. Rep. Frederica S. Wilson (D-Fla.) and LaDavid’s mother, Cowanda Jones-Johnson, say they were “shocked” by what the President said in the short conversation. During the awkward condolence telephone call, Congresswoman Wilson reported, Trump told the widow “He knew what he signed up for…but I guess it still hurts.” Sgt. Johnson’s Gold Star widow and mother back up Congresswoman’s Wilson’s account of the telephone conversation. “President Trump did disrespect my son and my daughter and also me and my husband,” Jones-Johnson said. Wilson said on CNN that Johnson told her Trump didn’t even know her late husband’s name. “When she actually hung up the phone and she looked at me and said, ‘He didn’t even know his name,” Wilson said. This morning, President Trump was asked about the call and responded predictably. For whatever reason, the President’s guttural reaction is always to deny, then blame somebody…perhaps toss a “Fake News” here or there. He did not disappoint. “I did not say what she said”, Trump complained, “I did not say what the congresswoman said”. He followed up with what can only be described as ‘juvenile threats’. “I want her to say that again”, basically daring the Congresswoman. “It’s a total lie” and “I never said that” were tossed in here and there as well, Trump never being one to mince Congresswoman Wilson quickly with a tweet, standing by her statements.
